KSB (Germany): more than 150 years of standardized centrifugal pumps and industrial valves
Industry News · 2026-09-10KSB is one of the world's oldest centrifugal and valve manufacturers. The company's name comes from the first three letters of its founders: Klein, Schanzlin and Becker.
From water supply boiler to global corporation
In 1871, engineer Johannes Klein designed boiler water supply equipment and was granted a patent; together with Friedrich Schanzlin and Jakob Becker, he founded the company in Frankenthal, Germany. Initially only about 12 employees. From 1924 the company acquired additional factories in Germany and established a subsidiary in Europe; in 1994 established its first joint venture in China. According to the company’s information in 2021, KSB has more than 15,000 employees, companies and agents in approximately 100 countries, revenue of approximately 2.2 billion euros.
Technical milestones of KSB
- Pumped by Eta (1935)The centrifugal pump line is a standardized first level towards performance, which is considered the "mother" of the standard pump line.
- CPK and Mega-CPKStandardized chemical pumps are the most widely used in the world.
- The Medical Center (1975)Reduce the noise of the pump.
- Pumping of mud:expanded into the mud pump market through the acquisition of KSB GIW (USA).
Lessons from standardized pumps
Standardized pumps have flange size, axle height and unified footing, helping to replace between companies, reduce spare parts stock and shorten machine stop times. Standards such as ISO 2858 and ISO 5199 serve this goal.
The Kenflo centrifugal pumps line corresponds
The Kenflo pump.meet the same needs: KCC standardized chemical pump, KCP high-performance one-level pump (energy-saving product certified in China), KPS double-door suction shell split pump for large flow, KDW and KDL multi-layer pump, GD in-line pump, KGP. Flow range from 0.8 to 40,000 m3/h, pressure column up to 2,500 m.The Application Post.to choose the correct type of pump, orContact us .and .
Frequently asked questions.
What is a standardized pump?
It is a pump with installed dimensions in accordance with international standards, which allows the replacement of another company's pumps without repairing pipes and shelves.
When do we need a characteristic route?
Always change the pump: the same flange size does not mean the same flow, pressure column and NPSH requirement.
